Bolope, next to the Mali border, was a center for Senufo carver in the beginning the 20th century. Later on in the 1950ies many carvers moved southwards to Boundiali and Ouézomon. The family name Coulibaly is till today a very popular name for Koulés in this area north of Ivory Coast.
Kadohognon, who died about 1953, was a Koulé who worked in a very symmetric and balanced style. The shape of his decoration elements are geometric and precise.
